About this tour

A 6-Day, 5-Night Journey Through Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Kosovo

Embark on a fascinating tour across four Balkan countries, where East meets West and history breathes through every cobblestone. Our expertly guided journey begins in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s soulful capital, where Ottoman heritage, Austro-Hungarian architecture, and poignant war memories coexist. Wander through the historic Baščaršija, visit Aliya Izetbegović’s memorial, sip traditional Bosnian coffee, and explore mosques, medreses, and ancient bridges.

Continue to the iconic Mostar Bridge, the charming town of Počitelj, and the mystical Dervish Monastery by the Buna River. Travel along scenic routes to Montenegro, where medieval towns like Kotor and Budva offer Adriatic beauty, old city walls, and panoramic sea views.

In Albania, witness the bustling energy of Shkodra and Tirana, where Ottoman mosques and modern life blend harmoniously. Then move on to North Macedonia, discovering the poetic town of Struga and the serene town of Ohrid—home to crystal-clear lake shores and UNESCO-listed monuments.

From there, follow the footsteps of Atatürk in Bitola (Manastır), admire the richly decorated Alaca Mosque in Tetovo (Kalkandelen), and delve into the lively streets of Skopje, full of historic hammams, hans, and mosques.

The final leg of the journey takes you to Kosovo, visiting the cultural gem of Prizren with its Ottoman bridges and mosques, and the capital city Pristina, where the legacy of Fatih Sultan Mehmed and Sultan Murad I endures in monuments and mausoleums.

This tour includes all transfers, accommodations in carefully selected 4-star hotels, daily breakfasts and dinners, and guided city tours in each destination. With local insight, cultural depth, and breathtaking landscapes, this is more than a tour—it’s a deep dive into the spirit of the Balkans.

Itinerary

After completing ticket and passport procedures at the airport, we board our flight for a 2-hour journey to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Upon arrival and customs clearance, we meet our guide and board our private bus to begin the Sarajevo city tour.

We start with a visit to Baščaršija, the vibrant Ottoman-era bazaar and cultural heart of the city. Next, we pay our respects at the Martyrs’ Cemetery, where the tomb of Bosnia’s first president Aliya Izetbegović is located.

We continue our walking tour with stops at the Kuršumli Madrasa, the magnificent Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, and the historic Ferhadija Street. Along the way, we see the National Library (burned during the war), the Clock Tower (showing lunar time), and Hünkar Mosque, a gift from Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror.

Our tour also includes the Latin Bridge, known as the site of the assassination that sparked World War I, and the Ottoman Fountain, where you can taste Sarajevo’s legendary spring water.

For lunch, we enjoy a delicious local treat at a famous Bosnian börek (pastry) house.

In the evening, we gather for a traditional Bosnian dinner featuring the famous Bosnian kebab at a local restaurant, followed by time for tea, coffee, and relaxation in Sarajevo’s old town.

After the program, transfer to our hotel for check-in and overnight stay in Sarajevo.

After an early breakfast at 06:00, we depart the hotel at 07:00 and begin our scenic drive towards Mostar, passing through picturesque mountain and river landscapes. Our first stop is the town of Konjic, where we admire the historic Ottoman bridge (restored by Turkey) and visit local woodcraft workshops for handmade souvenirs. We enjoy a coffee break along the banks of the Neretva River.

Continuing along the route, we pass Jablanica, where we view the remains of the WWII-era Nazi train sabotage site and a destroyed bridge. Upon arrival in Mostar, we begin our city tour, starting with the iconic Old Bridge (Stari Most)—a symbol of unity and resilience. We visit the Koski Mehmet Pasha Mosque, offering panoramic views of the city, and the Karagöz Bey Mosque.

We explore the old town center, protected by UNESCO, and enjoy free time for shopping and photography in its charming, cobbled streets.

Next, we head to the Blagaj Tekke, a 550-year-old dervish monastery nestled beside the stunning Buna River spring. Here, we relax and enjoy Turkish tea in a serene riverside setting.

In the afternoon, we cross the border into Montenegro via Trebinje. Our first stop is the beautiful medieval town of Kotor, where we visit the town square, Orthodox and Catholic churches, the Beskuca Palace, and the St. John Knights' Church.

After some free time, we continue to Budva, a famous Adriatic coastal town, where we have a sea-view dinner at a local restaurant.

We conclude the day with check-in and overnight stay at our hotel in Budva.

After breakfast, we head to Cairo Airport. After check-in and baggage handling, we take a one-hour domestic flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, we begin our city tour and then visit two of Egypt’s most majestic temples: the Philae Temple and the Aswan Dam, the largest dam on the Nile. We will end the day with a relaxing Felucca boat ride on the Nile River. Overnight stay at our Aswan hotel.
